Therapy Toronto Psychotherapy Definitions
OHIP does not pay for psychotherapy. It does pay for psychiatric treatment. Some company benefit programs and private insurance companies provide and sell plans that include psychotherapy. Usually these benefit plans and private insurance schemes restrict the service of psychotherapy to Registered Psychologists. Note that most Registered Psychologists are not trained in the special forms of psychotherapy offered by members of this site. In addition, employee benefit plans and private insurance plans usually set low annual budget limits, so that getting enough help becomes an issue for most people. Most of the psychotherapy in Ontario is provided by trained psychotherapists in private practice like the members of the Toronto Therapy Network on this site.
