Trager Technique

Trager Technique
One of the more interesting approaches to the body is the Trager Technique, developed by Milton Trager, MD.

He was the first disciple in North America of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi and became the mentor of the noted Californian T'ai Ch'i master Chungliang Al Huang, the founder of the Living Tao Movement.

Milton Trager had been a gymnast and student of the martial arts. His very strong kinaesthetic sense and strong personal embodiment led him to develop a form of bodywork particularly adapted to the healing and release of old long-seated physical and emotional trauma.

The work combines Mentastics (or mental gymnastics, an approach to free movement) and extensive table-based work during which the client re-experiences a sense of bodily freedom through the compete range of movement.
